I pass on introduce this lesson to 7-9 years old students (2nd grade). At the end of the lesson I volition provide a riflesheet and they should be able to match the hero with his/her accomplishments scoring a measly of 75%. Materials: Technology, worksheet, pencils, erasers, Classroom board, Book Barack Obama Of Thee I Sing A Letter to My Daughters Illustrated by: Loren Long Classroom Board inducing: Students leave behind list to the song My Country Tis of Thee the first ii verses while they derive up with any American Heroes they last or hear about. After listening to the song the students allow make connections and parcel of land with class close to names of American he roes that they know. I will introduce the keep and will inform the students that at the ratiocination of the book they will be asked to off a try out on some of the heroes and what they accomplished. Then I will subscribe aloud Of Thee I Sing. Activity Sequence: 1. get a business organisation to song 2.

Ask students to brainstorm names of American Heroes 3. take shape predictions of the book I will be reading 3b. handle with students that they will take a quiz on the American heroes in the book. 4. take leave Reading 5. Have them work on worksheet and revi ew answers when finish. Adaptations: St! ruggling readers will only be required to match six or seven questions from the worksheet. For non readers I will provide them with a persona of the heroes and picture of accomplishments to match. For mature students, they may go to the computer and look for 3 to a greater extent important facts about their favorite American heroes.
